| I finally bit the bullet and have started playing online poker a little. I must say it is fun and quite different than my home game. Play is much tighter, even at the lower limits. I am playing .25-.50 stud at planetpoker. Something that hasn't been addressed in my books on stud is the bring in bet. This is a new concept to me as we don't play it that way in my home game. How should I treat this situation? Clearly, if I am the bring in bet my starting requirements don't matter. Should I just play this hand on 4th street as I would any other 4th street hand? Secondly, what tips do you have for play online? It is much different than in person clearly, so how do I approach it. Tighten up my play? Loosen up? What about at such a low limit? Finally, and pardon me if this is insulting to our hosts in the least, but how can I be assured of integrity online? There was one player who just kept winning and winning with huge hands--much more than seem statistically possible. Every other hand was a flush or a full house. I had high trips several times that were beat by this person's full houses. It just doesn't seem statistically possible for there to be that many full houses and flushes in 3-4 hours of play. Thanks for any help. | ||

Yes, the strategy requirements would be the same. The only difference is that your opponets might read you differently being the bring-in. > > Secondly, what tips do you have for play online? Play solid, bet your hands for value if you think they are good and bluff infrequently. > > Finally, and pardon me if this is insulting to our hosts in the least, but how > can I be assured of integrity online? Because online poker is much faster in hands per hour played, it gives different perspectives to the player. It appears like there are more beats (there is..because more hands are played per hour). The cards are dealt randomly, with no pre-programmed pattern. We pride oursleves on our integrity at PlanetPoker. > > Thanks for any help. Your Welcome Roy Cooke | ||
