Thanks Roy. How do you feel about holding a small pair in hole in Omaha. I generally throw them away.

I hate small pairs...For that matter I hate small sets in Omaha. The propensity to be "set undered" is great and usually a low draw is present also. I am not saying A225 is not a playable hand, but the value of that hand is not in the pair.

I too dislike little pairs. But, at what point, does a low hole pair become a middle hole and ok to draw to in omaha?

Hi Dukesan

Before I add much value to a pair in Omaha it would have to be nines or higher since that would take away a card that would consumate a low. That does NOT mean I play every hand in which I hold two nines, the other cards in the hand would have to hold value also.

The AA23 suited gives you about a 44% chance of winning the hand with seven or more players. Of course, don't fall in love with it, because the flop can drastically change everything

I'll take my chances on love with that hand :-)
